Online Tool from UL - Underwriters Laboratories Inc., UL has introduced a new online tool for regulatory authorities. The "Category Code/Model Code Database" is a powerful search engine that links Code sections to UL product categories, to view the new database, visit their website; enter a Code section from the International Building Code (IBC), (IMC), (IFGC) or the (NEC), and get the corresponding UL product category and listing information. The database also provides hyperlinks to UL Guide information and other specific information pertaining to each UL Category Code.

Repeal of Part 1203 and addition of new Part 1203 to Title 19 NYCRR

A Notice of Adoption by the Department of State has been published in the New York State Register on October 26, 2005. The notice of adoption affects the administration and enforcement of the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code. The rule making repeals the existing minimum standards for the administration and enforcement of the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code that local governments must follow and adopts new minimum standards. The effective date for the new regulation is January 1, 2007.

Text of Rule 19 NYCRR Part 1203
UNIFORM CODE: MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT
A Notice of Adoption for revisions to 19 NYCRR Part 1203 will be published in the October 26, 2005 edition of the NYS Register, establishing an effective date of January 1, 2007.
