The ICC Foundation Code of Honor (COH) Scholarship - will open the application database for the Group B Final Action Hearings in Charlotte, N.C., October 24 –31 at 10 a.m. EST on Monday, July 12, and remain open until 5 p.m. EST on Friday, July 30.

2010 Edition of the NYS Fire Prevention and Building Code - The New York State Codes Division has announced that the 2010 Edition of the NYS Fire Prevention and Building Code will become effective December 14, 2010. There will be a transition period starting September 1, 2010. Between September 1 and December 14th, if you apply for a building permit, you will be able to choose between the current or new codes to use (but you cannot mix them). After December 14th, you will need to use the new code entirely.

Amanda's Law - Carbon monoxide alarm requirements to go into effect February 22, 2010... It requires essentially all residences, both new and existing, to have carbon monoxide alarms installed. The specific requirements differ for new and existing residences and also on when the buildings were built and subcategories of occupancy groups. Read more...
